2018 Summer Interns

B&A Genetics expanded their summer intern program to five interns for the summer of 2018. Four of those interns (Shailin, Jesse, Jake, and Cameron) were in sales, spending a lot of their time with a B&A Genetics EdgeUp Advisor that helped teach and mentor them. B&A Genetics hired one marketing intern, this summer (Clara), she focused her time on writing blogs, making Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter posts, and creating questions for various videos.

Shailin Heckard-

“My Internship with B&A Genetics was truly an amazing experience I will never forget and will cherish forever. Matt, Gregg and the rest of the crew put so much time and effort into making sure I had the best sales experience possible, and I couldn’t be more thankful for that. From going to the Monsanto Research Center in Monmouth, IL to the Seed Partner meeting in Louisville, KY. I felt like more than JUST an intern. I became part of the BA family.”

Jesse Van Ness-

“My internship with BA Genetics was very unique. I had the opportunity to see various parts within the seed industry and really get a better understanding of what it all entails and what I truly enjoy.”

Jake McCormick-

“What I loved about working for BA genetics is they treated us interns as more than just a number on a payroll. We were treated as people and we operated as a family. “

Cameron Myers-

“During my time at BA Genetics I feel like I was able to develop many useful skills. I learned a large amount of helpful information that I feel will benefit me in the future of agriculture.”

Clara Boles-

“I mean who gets to pretty much run a marketing department as an intern? Not your typical marketing intern, but I sure did this summer, and I am so thankful for that! I learned what did and didn’t work, and how to fix it if it didn’t work. Matt and Gregg treated me like any other employee, not just as an “intern”. I never saw myself working for B&A Genetics, but I am SO SO glad that I did!”

“Gregg and I thought our class of interns brought a level of professionalism and effort that made it difficult to realize they were only interns, instead of full time B&A Genetics EdgeUp Advisors. We thank each one of you for your commitment and dedication to our customers and brand throughout the summer.”

“We wish you the very best in your 2018-2019 school year!!!!!!!” Matt Bixler, Co-owner of B&A Genetics.
